lyrics

Zip up your coat, it's cold outside.
Take a breath, you'll be just fine.
Don't walk around with shoes on in the kitchen.
I don't think for a second what I'm missing.
But then the sky will fade to grey...

It's time to write another poem,
for my family and friends.
I never ask for anything,
but your smile 'till the end.
I hope it's just a dream, in the end.

Hold my hand behind me in the car.
I'm telling you son, you'll go far.
Seeing you go away will break my heart.
Although it'll be ok, to live apart.
But then the flowers will decay.

It's time to write another poem,
for my family and friends.
I never ask for anything,
but your smile 'till the end.
It's time for you to understand,
that you've done all that you can.
Opening my eyes to see,
has made me a better man.
You've made my everything in the end.
