Just Because

from Zach Russack by Zach Russack

lyrics

Smoke your candy cigarettes to rid
the taste of juice that's not so sweet.
Pirouette underneath the evergreen
to free yourself from that mess we call being free.
Time ticks away the endless seams of eternity,
although it seems like infinity.
The sun greets us with a shimmer, but its dimmer than we seem to realize.
Where's our compromise?

All I need is some bittersweet company,
tongue tied in a soft-core melancholy.
Closed eyes, bruised from the night before.
Mirror on the wall reflects no more.
Empty bag, timeless tunes.
Dusty clothes, holes within our shoes.
A belt that glimmers back at you will dull, and like the rest,
leaving tears crawling down your chest.

And after all they said was true, nothing old can be new.
Fickle moods have left me dusty behind you.
Tampered love and broken hearts, but we won't have to fall apart.
Crying eyes will paint a perfect work of art.
